LOOK: Ronnie Liang fulfills childhood dream of becoming a pilot - gohong01
Singer-actor Ronnie Liang is ready to soar higher as he is about to reach his childhood dream of becoming a pilot.
“Pangarap ko talaga dati ito. This is my childhood dream,” said Ronnie in an interview recently with GMANetwork.com.
“Mataas kasi, you know, magastos ang pagpipiloto. At saka during that time talaga, we're not financially okay.”
Because of this challenge, Ronnie had to put aside his dream to focus on more important things.
In fact, to earn a college degree, he had to juggle his time then between school and part-time jobs.
Ronnie finished Bachelor of Education Major in Science at Holy Angel University in Pampanga.
He related to GMANetwork.com, “I supported myself sa pag-aaral. I had six jobs.
After his stint at the popular singing talent show, Ronnie continuously worked as singer and as an actor.
Although he's contented with what he has now in show business, Ronnie said he never forgot about his dream of becoming a pilot.
He added, “After kong nag-graduate, pumasok na ako sa reality show.
Ronnie said it was the right timing when he was introduced to the owners of an aviation school after performing for the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
He already finished ground school subjects, flight simulator training, and has successfully maneuvered an actual propeller plane.
Next month, Ronnie expects to get his private pilot license from Strike Wing Aviation in Plaridel, Bulacan.
After this, he plans to continue his studies to earn commercial pilot license and airline transport pilot license, which is required to get a job in commercial airlines.
Will Ronnie quit showbiz when he gets a job as a pilot?
“Tuluy-tuloy pa rin po. I can still record songs and shoot for online shows,” he answered.
“Sideline lang, part-time.
“Pero sabi nga nila, once you're in the aviation, they doubt kung kaya mo pa rin maghanap ng ibang job.”
As early as now, Ronnie already imagines himself singing a song to airline passengers.
He excitedly said, “Singing pilot! Parang maganda 'yon.”
